JiveRoc Wedding Dance focuses on preparing wedding couples for their First Dance on their big day!
We specialize in beginners so do not worry if you have never danced before. We have a wide range of beginner moves that are easy to learn and look impressive to an audience. We mix basic swing dance with classical romantic moves to create a fun and unique dance that you will enjoy learning and will be excited to perform!
We are based in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago and offer private sessions for wedding couples, father/daughter dances and bridal parties. We can create a choreographed routine or teach you various dance moves for you to freestyle with confidence. It’s up to you.

LOCATION
We offer private lessons at your home in Chicago's North Shore. We find this creates a convenient and relaxed environment. No commuting hassle or daunting studio mirrors!

If you live outside of this area but are prepared to travel, get in touch and we can arrange a suitable venue.
PRICING
We offer private sessions catered to each couple’s needs. Our style is a simplified style of swing dance combined with romantic moves such as twirls, dips and rocks. You may wish to have a choreographed routine to a specific song or you may prefer to learn a few dance moves to freestyle on your own. It's up to you.
Couples
The price below is for any couple preparing for a wedding dance. It can be the bride and groom, father and daughter, mother and son etc.
$80 per session
$300 for 4 sessions
$70 for each additional session
Bridal Parties
The price below is for group lessons. It can be a choreographed bridal party routine or just dance lessons for a group in the lead up to a wedding.
$125 per session
$450 for 4 sessions
$100 for each additional session
We predict you will feel comfortable with 4-6 lessons. Please note that these prices are per session, not per hour. This helps you relax, take as much time as you need and not worry about watching the clock!
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Phillipa Tabachow was born and raised in Surrey, England. She studied tap, ballet and modern dance from the age of 3 to 19. After college, she performed with the Arial Entertainment Dance Company in Chicago for 2 years before moving to Hawaii, where her teaching career began at the St Laurent School of Dance in Honolulu.
After a season of dance in Sydney, Australia, Phillipa returned to England and completed her Associate Teacher’s qualification through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (I.S.T.D.). She then opened her own dancing school, the Pamela Winfield School of Dance (named after her grandmother).
Phillipa continued to study dance including hip hop, salsa, swing and jive. She emigrated back to Chicago and began JiveRoc Dance in 2008. Phillipa's passion is giving non-dancers the confidence to get excited about their wedding dance!
Phillipa was also a member of the Cartier Collective Tap Dance Company for 6 years, under the direction of Julie Cartier, one of the First Ladies of tap.
